Australia’s Day of Contempt have released a crushing follow up to “Where Shadows Lie”. Fans of Hatebreed, Another Victim, Earth Crisis, All Out War, etc should really dig this, and also appreciate the ways Day of Contempt tries to stand out in a large crowd. While there is nothing innovative or genre-bending about “See Through the Lies,” it is genuinely a great hardcore record with huge breakdowns, a small metal influence, some really catchy melodies, and lots of angry energy.
